FEATURES

WINGS OF GRACE is known as a masterpiece to yacht connoisseurs. Inspired by John Alden’s 1930 Malabar Yacht series and updated by CW Paine Yacht Design, she represents the perfect balance of traditional aesthetics with modern materials and systems. Comfort meets form. Easily handled on the water with as few as two crew, WINGS OF GRACE’s  solid displacement offers a powerful and reassuring sailing experience.

Her interior is beautifully appointed, functional and spacious for both living aboard and extended cruising. The layout includes a private forward cabin with double berth, open main salon, forward-facing navigation station, spacious galley, head with separate shower stall, and a large owner’s stateroom aft.

Construction

The multi-faceted French & Webb talents and creativity are on display in the craftsmanship of this yacht. WINGS OF GRACE was constructed for longevity with minimal maintenance. The hull is a composite wood/fiberglass structure at 1-5/8 inch thickness, incorporating five alternating layers of mahogany and fir epoxy laminated on a framework.  The hull skin is sheathed in over 20 oz of E-Glass with Pro Set Epoxy and topcoat with Gloss Black Awl Grip. Her decks are of composite construction covered in a 12 mm sprung teak. The exterior joinery is all varnished teak while the elliptical cockpit rails and wheel are fashioned with wood from one color matched log. All exterior hardware is either European or custom 316 L stainless. The ketch rig is crafted of carbon fiber, faux finished to a varnished wood color. The yacht’s systems and supporting infrastructure were built to the highest ABYC standard.

Below decks, the artistry of a finely appointed yacht is evident. The harmony of beautiful fabrics, marble, deep burgundy wood trim, bamboo floors, nickel metalwork, and custom alabaster sconces create a very warm, inviting, living space. Chuck Paine writes in his memoir: “In an ideal world my studio would have designed nothing for 35 years other than yachts like WINGS OF GRACE.”
